This document outlines the parking policy relating to Central Office. The Department of Education and Training (the Department) is one of the few government agencies that provides secured parking for staff and visitors. Parking facilities provided by the Department to staff are considered to be a privilege and not an entitlement. This revised policy is effective 8 September 2008.

- Enrolment of Continuing TAFEWA Students in Award Qualifications With Entrance Requirements Only

This policy makes provision for full and part time students at TAFEWA colleges to enrol directly at the same college in a full time qualification within their learning pathway. Students may do this provided the qualification they wish to enrol in requires entrance requirements only to be addressed.

Financial support provided by parents has always played a significant role in enabling the provision of resources that extend the school’s capacity to add value to students’ learning experience. For example, parent contributions allow schools to provide class sets of text books instead of students having to provide their own.

A staff member may be required to appear as a witness in court to give evidence or supply documents, or both. This might occur following a request from the Director General or as a result of a subpoena being served directly on the staff member.

Update 18 May 2007: This iteration of the CAR policy reflects recent government and Departmental directions, which have already been communicated as memos to schools. The amendments to this policy reflect: a continued focus on sustainable curriculum reform that is grounded in meeting the learning needs of students; a recognition of the value of teacher professional judgements in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on students’ learning; and continued support for whole-school approaches to planning, delivering and assessing learning. Update 30 July 2008: The introduction of the National Assessment Program has necessitated minor (nomenclature) changes to some wording in this policy.

This policy outlines the processes by which a community member, which includes parents, may have their complaints against either an employee’s conduct or the Department's processes addressed. The policy ensures that enquiries, concerns and complaints are dealt with promptly and fairly in accordance with the Australian Standard for Complaints Handling. 11.11.09 version 1.2 published with addition of procedural information regarding Working With Children Checks policy.
