- Education Assistant Allocation for Students with Disabilities 2005
-
The Department of Education and Training has developed Schools Plus – Resourcing Informed Practice following recommendations of from Pathways to the Future: A Report of the Review of Educational Services for Students with Disabilities in Government Schools 2004. The Schools Plus process underpins the Department of Education and Training’s commitment to supporting students with disabilities on the basis of educational need. Schools Plus is a model of informed practice to match educational need to supplementary resourcing to schools. It makes practical links between teaching and learning adjustments, services and support, professional learning and supplementary resourcing. Supplementary resources are allocated in the form of additional teacher time and education assistant time to schools with eligible students. Resources are based on the degree and type of teaching and learning adjustments documented by schools in their learning programs.
