Salary Packaging Information Guide - June 2009

Salary packaging is an arrangement that allows you to sacrifice part of your gross salary to obtain benefits. The benefit is deducted from your pre-tax salary which reduces your taxable income and the amount of tax payable. Salary packaging is available to all Department of Education and Training employees. Participation in salary packaging is voluntary.

School Development Days 2009

School Development Days are provided to all public schools for the purpose of whole of school planning and professional development of staff. They provide opportunities for school staff to plan together for school improvement and devote time to system-wide initiatives. The policy has been amended to reflect the arrangements and dates for 2009.

School Education Act 1999

School Improvement and Accountability

This policy replaces and revises the School Accountability Framework (2002) that was extensively reviewed in 2006 and 2007. It requires that school principals in collaboration with school staff undertake self assessment, planning and reporting processes. The revised policy and procedures incorporate school compliance reporting and include requirements related to the Standards Review and the Expert Review Group. Update: 18 February 2009 - The reporting requirements in section 7.4 have been revised.
