- Duty of Care – VET for School Students (VSS) Attending TAFEWA Colleges

This policy addresses how schools, teaching staff and TAFEWA colleges and staff discharge their duty of care to students. ’Duty of Care’ is a legal concept that has its origins in common law. - Community Service Program

The Department of Education and Training (DET) recognises the value and educational benefits of programs that enable students to connect with and contribute to the community. In 2007 the Community Service Program was implemented in all public schools. The Community Service Program gives students opportunities to contribute to their school and/or wider community as part of their school program. As part of this program, students contribute a minimum of 20 hours service to the community, typically during Years 10 and 11.
