The management of community kindergartens is shared between members of the parent community, via the Parent Management Committee, and officers of the Department of Education and Training. Teachers in community kindergartens work closely with the Parent Management Committee. A Disabilities Advisory Panel is a small group of people with special expertise who are appointed to advise the Director General about educational provision for students with disabilities or to comment on whether an exclusion order is warranted for a highly disruptive student with a disability.

The Discipline policy applies to teaching staff, public servants and other officers. It does not apply to wages staff. The document may be reviewed in the light of changes to the management of complaints and conduct matters within the Department.
- District Allowance (Government Wages Employees) General Agreement 2005

The purpose of the General Agreement is to: (1) effect District Allowance increases on an interim basis in accordance with the Agreement, for employees bound by the General Agreement; and (2) provide for the parties to undertake a substantive review of the District Allowance.
