- Attendance

The School Education Act 1999 requires compulsory aged students, as defined in the Act, to attend school or participate in an educational program of a school. Principals are responsible for recording and monitoring the attendance of all students and for implementing appropriate strategies to restore attendance if necessary. Update 14.9.09 - changes to section 4.5 (a).

All staff have a vital role to play in creating a safe and protective school environment through the identification and support of children affected by abuse. This policy assists staff to respond appropriately where there is a concern for a child’s wellbeing or a disclosure of abuse. The best interests of the child will be met through an understanding of the processes and requirements for reporting child abuse to agencies who share this responsibility. 11.11.09 version 2.3 published with addition of section 6.18 regarding Working With Children Checks policy.

A Community Kindergarten Registration Advisory Panel is a small group of people appointed to review a decision of the Minister about the registration of a community kindergarten.
- Community Kindergartens

The management of community kindergartens is shared between members of the parent community, via the Parent Management Committee, and officers of the Department of Education and Training. Teachers in community kindergartens work closely with the Parent Management Committee. The Competency Framework for Teachers provides teachers with descriptions of their work and roles, recognising the knowledge and skills required to achieve the best outcomes for students. In addition to five dimensions of technical competence, the Framework includes an outline of the professional attributes expected of teachers in public schools.

The Director General and the Corporate Executive are responsible for passing on the sympathy/condolences of the Department of Education and Training. These guidelines detail the process for the preparation of condolence letters.
- Corruption, Prevention and Detection

The Corruption Prevention and Detection policy replaces the Fraud Prevention and Detection policy and has undergone 18 months or revision and consultation. The policy now refers to corruption, which encompasses fraud and better reflects the Premier's Circular 2005/02 Corruption Prevention.
