Summary: Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting K-10: Policy and Guidelines

Description

Update 18 May 2007: This iteration of the CAR policy reflects recent government and Departmental directions, which have already been communicated as memos to schools. The amendments to this policy reflect: a continued focus on sustainable curriculum reform that is grounded in meeting the learning needs of students; a recognition of the value of teacher professional judgements in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on students’ learning; and continued support for whole-school approaches to planning, delivering and assessing learning. Update 30 July 2008: The introduction of the National Assessment Program has necessitated minor (nomenclature) changes to some wording in this policy.
