policy
Summary: Enrolment
Description
Enrolment policy - under the School Education Act 1999 children are entitled to be enrolled at a public school provided they meet general residential qualifications. Three objectives apply in determining eligibility for a particular school: maximising local access, offering a choice of schools, and ensuring an appropriate educational program. An underlying principle of the policy is that students cannot be enrolled in more than one school. To cater for students attending programs outside of the enrolling school, procedures have been developed for alternative attendance arrangements. A table has been included to assist principals’ awareness of the conditions applying to enrolment of visa holders. 23.04.09 - Version 1.1 published which contains amended forms in appendices F1 and G.
