WA Public School Student Enrolment Form

Following acceptance of the Application for Enrolment, the parents/persons responsible will be asked to complete enrolment procedures at the school and to provide information essential at the time of enrolment. Parents/persons responsible should complete the WA Student Enrolment Form and return it to the school for confirmation of this student’s enrolment. Family details should include details of parents or persons responsible residing at the same address as the student being enrolled. Any details relating to parents not residing with the student may be included in the parent/responsible person details section of this form.

Application for Enrolment Form

Parents/ persons responsible who wish to enrol their child in a public school, or community kindergarten, will provide a completed Application for Enrolment Form to the preferred school, or community kindergarten. This is an application for enrolment only - submitting this form to the school does not mean that the enrolment has been accepted by the school. The Application for Enrolment Form is available as an appendix in the Enrolment Policy or can be downloaded as a separate form from this summary section.

Framework for Eligibility Criteria and Enrolment in Education Support Schools and Centres

The Framework for Eligibility Criteria and Enrolment in Education Support Schools and Centres has been written to inform principals and other school and district staff who manage student enrolments. It is useful for mainstream and education support staff, plus any support staff that require knowledge of enrolment processes (such as visiting teachers, learning support coordinators, school psychologists and student services managers). The Framework applies to all education support enrolments K-12 plus special scenarios such as Alternative Education Programs (previously ' shared placements' ) and Physical Disability and Severe Mental Disorder short term enrolments (2008 trial).

Enrolment

Enrolment policy - under the School Education Act 1999 children are entitled to be enrolled at a public school provided they meet general residential qualifications. Three objectives apply in determining eligibility for a particular school: maximising local access, offering a choice of schools, and ensuring an appropriate educational program. An underlying principle of the policy is that students cannot be enrolled in more than one school. To cater for students attending programs outside of the enrolling school, procedures have been developed for alternative attendance arrangements. A table has been included to assist principals’ awareness of the conditions applying to enrolment of visa holders. 23.04.09 - Version 1.1 published which contains amended forms in appendices F1 and G.

VET Fees and Charges in 2009

This policy sets out the statutory and provider based fees and charges that apply to training and skills recognition funded by the Western Australian Department of Education and Training and delivered by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) from 1 January 2008, and outlines the procedures governing the administration of these fees and charges. Update September 2009: Course fee exemptions for unemployed people (Section 6.3.2) and 50% fee concession for Recognition of Prior Learning services (Section 6.5.1).

Special Responsibility Allowances

Special Responsibility Allowances (SRAs) are provided to give schools the opportunity to use the expertise of one or more teachers to improve the learning program available to students. They are also available to teachers for additional special administrative duties.

Enrolment of Continuing TAFEWA Students in Award Qualifications With Entrance Requirements Only

This policy makes provision for full and part time students at TAFEWA colleges to enrol directly at the same college in a full time qualification within their learning pathway. Students may do this provided the qualification they wish to enrol in requires entrance requirements only to be addressed.
