Section 241 of the School Education Act 1999 provides for the establishment of panels of suitably qualified persons to review a decision not addressed by other panels of review or to provide additional advice to the Minister for Education and Training about issues that arise from time to time.

The availability and consumption of alcohol on school premises needs to be carefully managed. Schools have a duty to ensure that the supervision of children is appropriate at all times and that the reputation of the school is not damaged by inappropriate behaviour at social occasions.
- Alternative Education Programs

The Department of Education and Training provides a broad range of educational opportunities. Alternative Education Programs combine vocational or life skills education with literacy and numeracy components and applies only to those programs that are not under a school’s or district’s direction.
- Animals in Schools

Animals can enrich learning experiences for students, but it is a requirement that they be used responsibly and ethically adhering to Animal Welfare Act (2002). Schools using animals for teaching and learning activities must obtain prior approval from the Schools Animal Ethics Committee and records of use must be maintained.
